Random Memories

Craig and I were EFY co-counselors together our first year of EFY. He had this random blown up penguin that his boys carried around with him. I even have picture of him sleeping on it. It was hilarious. The next year we were on the same BC team. What a great friend and confidante he was. He would get up early in the morning with me to go running (let me tell you what a sacrifice that is) and we would talk about all sorts of things. We called ourselves the BC outcasts. lol. But he was always there for anyone who needed him. Good old C-Deck. Those years at EFY create one of the best friendships I could ask for. When I found out about his hand, like so many others, he fed me a story. He told me that he had been in an avalanche and trapped for days and in order to not starve had chewed his hand off. Funny Craiggers, I totally believed him. I loved the Pirate party that he had not long after that to celebrate his new hook. Always the optimist, I never expected anything less from him. I saw him less than a month ago at a choir concert and as always he was smiling and happy. It was great to see him, hug him, and have him introduce me to his parents as one of his EFY buddies. I will truly miss him. He was one of the most Christ-like and amazing people that I knew. There is a hole left in my life without him around. I know that he will continue to do amazing things where he is now.
