On a band trip up to Idaho, the bus let us out in a shopping center parking lot for lunch. There were a couple of fast food places, but Craig and I weren't digging the Taco Bell vibe so we opted to cross the street to the grocery store for some real food. We headed for the produce section to get some fruit, and suddenly Craig's eyes lit up. "We should buy a potato!" "We have no way to cook it." "Not to eat, just to have. Like a souvenir." "Why?" "Because we're in Idaho." Sure, sounds logical to me, too. So we bought a potato and made it our mascot for the trip. For much of the afternoon Craig and I joked about our "child", the potato. Then we stuck it in Justin Spark's uniform bag for safe keeping and forgot about it until Justin pulled it out, moldy, months later. Whoops.
