My family lives in the same neighborhood as the Deckers and attended church and school with them. After I got married in August of 2004, Craig and his friend Mark came over to my family's house while my husband and I were there. They brought a card and a wedding present: a gigantic box of Otter Pops. Because, they explained, "Married people LOVE Otter Pops!"
Both Mark and Craig had a recently-married older brother at the time, so I'm not sure whether this notion came from Mark, from Craig, or from some other source. I confess that we still have not finished the Otter Pops, though we enjoy them each summer. Every time I see the colorful striped box I remember Craig's smiling face and hear in my mind: "Married people LOVE Otter Pops."
