A little bit after his accident in Mexico I ran into Craig on campus. It was the first time I had seen him since his accident. I was impressed with how upbeat he was about the whole thing. One thing he pointed out was that he was going on more dates now then he had before the accident. He held up his stump and said "Chicks dig it man! So if you ever get really desperate...". That summer we were roommates. He continued to impress me with his can-do attitude. He looked at re-learning to do things one-handed as an adventure. I've never met anyone who faced adversity with the kind of joy that Craig showed. He will be missed and the things he taught me will be remembered.
